Argentina in the Caribbean...with a view of Curacao.

After a very  busy North Sea Jazz Weekend we decided to end the week by having dinner at El Gaucho Steakhouse....This open air restaurant is located on the East side of the Island overlooking a great part of Curacao....we did not make a reservation and walked in to be welcomed by a staff member at the entrance...we were taken to our table, which as many others...offered a splendid view of Curacao by Night...

After having received our Pinja Colada and Corona Beer we proceeded to the soup & Salad station, which is included in the El Gaucho experience. The station offered a delicious variety of 12 salads and the option of chicken soup.
3 different salad dressings were available for those wanting to spice up their salad.
After we had enjoyed our salad and the view ,we were looking forward to our main courses ...consisting of  Sea & Land ( Tenderloin Petit cut & 3 shrimps)  and Argentine Grill (consisting of pork loin, Chorizo , beef rib & Chicken).
And we were not disappointed.!!The portions were enough and very taste full. The homemade french fries we took as a side order were also some of the best we ever had.
The food & atmosphere was great, but the staff  disappointed me ..although they were help full when asked , they were not friendly..I hope this was just an "off" night for the staff and that in the future they will smile, try to up sell on beverage and be more attentive.
After all we enjoyed the evening and I would recommend this Argentinian steakhouse to those looking to experience some of Argentina in the Caribbean... with a view of Curacao!

The Dollar Wine @ Riffort Village

Saturday started out as a rainy day....but we still decided to go and enjoy one of the most historic and also beautiful areas of curacao , the Riffort village....Riffort offers live music every Saturday night and this week it was D-edge band that offered an amazing variety of music..but before I tell you about D-Edge...this is how the evening started. We arrived around 7.15 pm, which was the perfect time to grab a seat all the way to the front of Salt & Peppers outside restaurant...After ordering drinks and some snacks ,...D-edge band immediately caught our attention by their great combination of voices ....As our drinks arrived we saw how Riffort started filling up with people in for a delightful musical evening ..Riffort hosts various restaurants and Salt & Pepper restaurant had a good variety of snacks, main courses and a separate menu for drinks and wines….a wine bottle was put at our table together with some candlelight and salt & pepper ofcourse… After our snacks were put at the table… the waitresses were very attend in asking us if we were ok and if we needed anything else.. As the evening progressed and riffort filled up ,D- Egde band continued to entertain us with songs like Marc Anthony’s “ Vivir mi Vida and Inner Circle’s a la la long and a great variety of songs from the 70’s , 80’s and 90’s …which were all known to us and which we sang along to with much enthusiasm…. D- Edge’s front man Freddy was able to bring people from different countries together in front of the stage to do the Dollar Wine…..Yep..that is a caribbean dance…where you have to move those hips according to the lyrics of the song…. ...hahah this dance was amazing ,and it was great to see how the evening ended with people from all nations dancing to the dollar wine…D- Edge continued entertaining the crowd while we enjoyed a stroll along the St Anna Bay where the beautiful lights on Punda’s buildings lit up the evening sky..

Welcome !!

Thanks a Million to all who supported me in this venture... I am soo ready and EXCITED to be keeping you updated on places to go and events to visit in Curacao..
By now you may be wondering who I am.
Well My name is Kim B... and I Love Curacao ...their is so much to do and so many places to visit  that I decided to start blogging about them.
I also developed eventsincuracao.com , which is an over view of all events ,activities, festivals etc in Curacao...and the idea for  eventsincuracao.com started on July 2nd ,when I wanted to celebrate Flag Day...but had NO idea where to go with baby & my guy.
So I decided to start building a website that features this information...eventually we went to Otrobanda to celebrate Flag Day ( Dia di Bandera)...which was great...but I'm sure their were so many more places we could have visited.
To make a long story short...that is how eventsincuracao was eventually created.
Events in Curacao.com and our blog will focus on our those interested in going out in Curacao and wondering where to go or what to do.
Weekly I will be going out to one of the venues/events I have posted on the site and will update you what I experienced and how I experienced it
